Adventurer Skiing

The Grand-Bornand offers a sports field where you can play without limits.
Between sky and snow, enough to let his adventurous nature express itself..."

3 km of non-stop descent for 1100 m of altitude difference
3 km of non-stop descent for 1100 m of altitude difference: these are the dream measurements of the famous Dénivel'Maxx, THE mythical track of the Grand-Bornand...

in the skin...
In addition to its free practice - within the limits of the safety conditions specific to any practice in the natural environment - it is possible to try out ski touring along the secure routes set up along the alpine ski slopes. Grand-Bornand offers three signposted routes offering a breathtaking view of the Aravis mountain range. With free access, only one of the routes - "La Joyère / Le Chenu" - requires the use of a transport ticket to access the upper station of the La Joyère cable car, the starting point of this tour.

Top 10 of the most beautiful French equipment

Regularly ranked in the top 10 of the most beautiful French equipment, the SnowparkGB (Snowpark Le Grand-Bornand) democratizes freestyle on nearly 5 hectares of fun and alternative slopes. At the height of everyone, it offers different lines adapted to beginners and freestylers alike.

with the biathlon weekend "Action and precision"
For those who dream of following in the footsteps of Martin Fourcade, the undisputed star of the next round of the Annecy-Le Grand-Bornand Biathlon World Cup in France, from 16 to 22 December 2019, L'Auberge Nordique*** offers a weekend biathlon package "Action and precision" over two days + one night on full board alternating shooting sessions with a pellet gun (10m) and a 22 long rifle (50m), with an introduction to skating.  All this in the preserved setting of the Bouchet valley, at the foot of the Aravis mountain range.  Atmosphere far north guaranteed!

with the "Dahu freeride" internships
Young lovers of wide open spaces can now enjoy the "safe" pleasure of powder snow thanks to the freeride courses organised by the French Ski School of Grand- Bornand. A way to reconcile freedom and safety, while being sensitized to the mountain environment and its dangers in the company of an experienced instructor. These courses, which are open to children aged 8 to 13, allow children to learn to balance in different types of snow, meet the Grand-Bornand avalanche dog during a fictional rescue exercise, or build a makeshift shelter... where they can enjoy a handmade fir tea. So many fun and informative workshops that cover the theme, central to the respect of an ecosystem to be cared for.

A slalom in Tessa Worley's footsteps
The result of a partnership between the ESF of Grand-Bornand and the prestigious brand "Alpina Watches", the resort is opening its slalom stadium - the training site for its champions - to skiers eager for performance. A timing device for his run, projected on a giant screen and shareable on social networks, also offers the possibility to measure himself against the reference times recorded on the same track by Tessa Worley (double world champion in Géant 2013 and 2017, Crystal Globe in Géant 2017) and Steve Missillier (Olympic runner-up in giant Slalom 2014).

Train budding riders!
A melting pot for new snow sports in Haute-Savoie, Le Grand-Bornand, which also has a regularly cited snowpark, is one of the only two French resorts, with Avoriaz, to offer a "Baby Snowboard Club". The idea? Directly inspired by what is already practiced in the United States, it is a question of going against the trend that all children should start by learning to ski before starting to snowboard, by offering supervised sessions from the age of 3. Equipped in this way, snowboarders' apprentices are given a fun approach course integrating balance games, jumps, rocking workshop and mini slope as part of sessions in very small groups (4 participants per course).
