This fall, take the time!

This fall in Grand-Bornand, take the time to enjoy the warm colours, the warm sunshine, the gourmet flavours and meet the people of the region. But if you're impatient to put on your skis, take the opportunity to write the first lines of your winter movie.
The days are getting shorter, of course, but nature is getting calmer and the colours are shimmering, it's time to take your time and take a walk on sunny days.
Autumn is always a gourmet season and in Grand-Bornand you will find something to delight your taste buds. Nature will offer you according to your walks, blueberries, blackberries and mushrooms but for the uninitiated you will find on the weekly market (Wednesdays) or in the shops where you can shop and discover local products: sausages, country ham, etc... and the famous reblochon fermier.
...TO MEET...
A village of (strong) character, the whole identity of Grand-Bornand is revealed through the traditional festivals that mark the year. Autumn is no exception to the rule, with the Saint-Maurice Agricultural Fair, the European Heritage Days at the Maison du Patrimoine and the spectacular downhill runs of the mountain pastures announcing the privileged meeting between locals and visitors... more or less prolonged!

A "tip": to admire a descent into the mountain pastures, run to your windows when the soft sound of the bells of these young ladies will wake you up in the early morning of their passage and here no one will complain... Or meet the farmers in their mountain pastures or during farm visits, they will be delighted to invite you to their "démontagnée".

A last big agro-pastoral meeting before going down from the mountain pastures... Agricultural fair with livestock and reblochon competitions, livestock fair, animal parade, exhibitors, garage sale, fairgrounds and breeders' evening.

Saint-Maurice Fair
The Bornandin Heritage House welcomes you to its doors. Come (re)discover this traditional farm with exhibitions on the forest and nature, ancient bowling as well as the reserves at "Maison de Valérie" (presentation of several thousand objects).
European Heritage days
