Skiing legends
9 champions on the starting line of the world’s biggest competitions for winter 2024/25: that says a lot about the dynamism of the resort most regularly represented on the international ski circuits, all disciplines taken together.
A healthy habit as much as a trademark for the village, which carried a “historic” delegation of 8 athletes to the Vancouver Olympics in 2010, then 6 to Sochi, 4 of whom returned medallists in 2014…
Le Grand-Bornand has long been a believer in its young people, who have returned the favor, in keeping with the pioneering spirit of the Ski-Club, rightly nicknamed “the school of champions” and voted French Club Champion several times, which celebrates its centenary in 2023 at the same time as the retirement of three of its most valiant ambassadors, Tessa Worley (double Giant World Champion 2013 and 2017, two Crystal Globes in 2017 and 2022), Jonathan Midol (Skicross bronze medallist at Sochi 2014) and Bastien Midol (Skicross world vice-champion 2013, Crystal Globe 2019).
