Le Grand-Bornand has that little something extra
that’s all its own.
That lively, warm and authentic personality,
“I’m going to the Grand-Bo”, as even the most intimate say.
and with good reason, it’s so easy to become attached
to this unique village life,
You don’t find yourself in Grand-Bornand…
It’s a truly wonderful time,
discussing the snow and the fine weather,
with friends or family,
in a majestic natural setting.
Le Grand-Bornand isn’t just about sport,
We ski in a picture-postcard setting,
We learn from our champions,
you’ll vibrate to the rhythm of the Biathlon World Cup,
and we Glisse en Coeur, together and in solidarity!
You don’t just go for a walk
in Grand-Bornand,
You’ll be captivated by the inimitable jaggedness of the Aravis mountains,
facing the summit of Mont Lachat,
breathing in the Pointe Percée refuge,
taking in the rich, unspoilt biodiversity,
Eating in Grand-Bornand isn’t all it’s cracked up to be,
You can savour a Premier Cru farmhouse Reblochon cheese
in a century-old chalet,
a testament to the skills of our craftsmen and farmers.
In Grand-Bornand, you can let yourself be carried away
your artistic soul,
It’s easy to marvel at La Source
and on the Art Vache trail
and the festival Au Bonheur des M
during the Au Bonheur des Mômes festival
That’s Le Grand-Bornand,
A unique and exceptional way of life,
where Bo! is everywhere and shared by all.
It’s an energy, a feeling, an emotion called…
Le Bo!Vivre.
Bo!Vivre is good for
for body and soul!
Between sport, nature and culture, Le Grand-Bornand and its old wooden chalets at the foot of the Aravis mountains cultivate the pleasure of shared experiences for a day or more. On the programme for these “micro-adventures” are great encounters and limitless discoveries… to be savoured or experienced in their entirety!
The limestone faces of the Aravis and Jallouvre mountains, and the rounded reliefs of Mont Lachat and Mont Danay, are all invitations to contemplate landscapes that are sometimes wild, sometimes worked by man and farming, ideal for a simple stroll or a more active hike. More than 160km of signposted trails of varying degrees of difficulty lead from mountain pastures to high-altitude lakes, from dense forests to breathtaking peaks, taking in the most beautiful landscapes and viewpoints from the Jura to the Southern Alps, including the unmissable Mont-Blanc massif.
Hiking in front of the Aravis mountain range, skiing at sunset, enjoying the fresh mountain air while admiring hundred-year-old chalets, meeting the farmers, guides and craftsmen and women and enjoying a good farmhouse Reblochon cheese: these are all moments that make summer and winter in Grand-Bornand a unique experience… and help to make it a place that belongs to all of us in a small way. The BO! Life is good for body and soul!
Stroll along the Parcours de l’Art Vache, the only one of its kind in the world, evolving, arty and offbeat as can be, where works of art and sculptures add colour to squares and alleyways. Stop off at La Source, an artistic playground and exploration of the Alps, in keeping with the playful, offbeat spirit of the Au Bonheur des Mômes festival. The Maison du Patrimoine, an authentic farmhouse that has survived the centuries, immerses you in local history through objects from yesteryear. And to prolong the escape, the themed trails invite you to discover the heritage at the pace of the mountains.
