ECO-responsible vacations! Le Grand-Bornand, an exceptional natural site, is part of the Natura 2000 protected area of the Aravis chain and the Bargy massif. This network of the European Union’s most remarkable natural sites aims to preserve biological diversity.

    Whether you're at home or on vacation in our village, best practices are the same

    • Stay on marked trails. Your presence can disrupt the survival of certain animal species.
    • Make sure you don’t leave any garbage on the trails. Remember to sort your rubbish and take it to the appropriate collection points.

    The Natura 2000 network What is it?

    The Natura 2000 network is a group of European natural sites, on land and at sea, identified for the rarity or fragility of wild animal or plant species and their habitats. Natura 2000 reconciles nature conservation and socio-economic concerns. In France, the Natura 2000 network comprises 1,758 sites.
