Fête de l'Alpage, a traditional festival with a lot of events focusing on life on the mountain pastures. From open-air mass to a parade of floats, traditional craft demonstrations and a lumberjack competition, there's something for all ages!
Program:
9:30 am: Start of the running race (one course for adults and one for children),
10:30 am: Mass,
12 pm: Country lunch accompanied by the Grand-Bornand Harmony Orchestra,
Starting at 1:30 pm:
Folkloric group “Lous Pastourios”,
Lumberjack competition featuring the region's best lumberjacks.
3.30 pm: Grand parade of floats on the theme: “The States of America”,
6 pm: Lumberjack competition final,
6.30 pm: Demonstration of Reblochon cheese making,
7 pm: Aperitif /dinner with the group “Captiv”,
From 10 pm: Fireworks and free dance party with a DJ.
Throughout the day:
- Demonstration of traditional crafts by the elders,
- Introduction to rock climbing,
- Many activities for young and old,
- Grass skiing competition.
Bus service line A Le Grand-Bornand Village / Le Chinaillon reinforced throughout the day and extended in the evening.
Departures:
- From the bus station in Le Grand-Bornand Village, every 20 min from 10.10 am to 12.10 pm, every 15 min from 1.20 pm to 6:35 pm, and every 30 min from 7.30 pm to 11.30 pm.
- From the Floria stop to Le Chinaillon, every 20 min from 10.05 am to 12.25 pm, every 15 min from 1.35 pm to 6.50 pm, and every 30 min from 7.45 pm to 11.45 pm (last departure).
Traffic :
Traffic of all vehicles, with the exception of municipal services, emergency services and organisation vehicles, will be prohibited from 2pm on Saturday 2nd August 2025 until 3am on Monday 04 August 2025 on the route l'Envers du Chinaillon from its intersection with the route des Outalays to its intersection with the impasse du Clût.
Parking:
Volunteers and organisers will be able to park along the route de l'Envers du Chinaillon from the intersection with the impasse du Clût to the intersection with the route de la Floria. To this end, a security checkpoint will be set up by the Police Municipale at the intersection between the route de l'Envers du Chinaillon and the route de la Floria on Sunday 3rd August 2025 from 8am until 11pm. Residents of Impasse du Clût and Castel des Neiges will be allowed to use this section of the road. Access to the doctor's surgery will be maintained.
People with reduced mobility: a parking area will be created at the top of the Charmieux.
