Art and vibrancy at the summit
At dawn, when the mountain was still asleep, they arrived on the wind.
No one was waiting for them. Once day had broken, local residents and skiers were amazed to discover the scene.
They are known as Les Voyageurs de l’Air.
They come from far away.
They are strange birds: acrobats, musicians, dancers, accompanied by a mysterious hot-air balloon. On their way to new horizons, they suspended their journey, attracted by the snow and the summits. It was the first time they had reached such a universe, which seemed inaccessible to them. Here in Le Grand-Bornand, they found what they were really looking for: wonder.
In exchange for this unforeseen refuge, they put on a lively show of moving bodies, music and aerial suspensions. On skis and in the air, they defy gravity. Are they weightless?
For the duration of the show, the mountain becomes their stage, as close to the sky as possible.
To make the most of your trip...
You must have a ticket (ski pass or pedestrian pass) to access the ski area. The pedestrian pass is only for access to the Rosay plateau.
Sunday 8/02
- 10.30am-11.15am – L’EVEIL MAGIQUE DU MAROLY – Maroly summit
A gentle introduction combining the performances of a flying violinist and an aerial dancer… - 11.15am-12pm – MOVING MUSIC – Maroly summit towards Terres Rouges
A flying violinist wanders over the Grand-Bornand panorama, while rope access technicians on skis set the mood on the slopes. - 1pm-4pm – RIDE, MUSIC & FLY – SnowparkGB du Maroly
An energetic performance combining a flying saxophonist, a DJ, an aerial dancer and a freestyle demo (provided by the La Clusaz ski club), promising a great show…
Monday 9/02
- 10.15am-12pm – CABINS ON STAGE – Rosay gondola
Violin, saxophone, accordion, DJ and dancer take over the cabins on the Rosay line, transforming the “journey” to the slopes into memorable interactive scenes.
- 11.00am-11.30am – DANCING WITH THE BUBBLES – Top of the Rosay cable car
A succession of artistic numbers in the sky over the Rosay plateau, under a 7m diameter balloon… - 2pm-3.30pm – LES GARDIENS DU LACHAT
A series of static performances, light poetry for skiers! - 2pm-4pm – MUSIQUE EN PISTES – Wherever you least expect it!
An accordionist to accompany skiers on their downhill runs… - 1.15pm-1.30pm and 4pm-4.30pm – L’APPEL DES CLOCHES – Rosay sector
At regular intervals, the sound of a bell, an emblematic object of Grand-Bornand, calls the artists to the Rosay plateau for a collective performance bringing together families, skiers and walkers in a vibrant, ephemeral show.
