In the open air: Travel diary, Sketch and Watercolour themed course

Reflect, take your time, enjoy the pleasure of painting while outdoors in the green alpine pastures of the Aravis Mountains.
All summer long at Grand-Bornand you are invited to participate in a wide variety of artistic activities through lessons our longer courses; watercolors and sketching allow truly rediscovering nature in a calm atmosphere that combines observation, creativity, relaxation and emulation.
The theme of this course is based on a travel journal: typical local architecture, animals (for example the well-known Abondance breed of cow, more populous in Le Grand-Bornand than the local inhabitants), alpine vegetation, the summits of the Aravis Mountains, etc. …
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays lessons take place at a specific site to study the different facets of drawing and speed painting; on Thursday go on an all-day watercolor hike in the mountains, taking the time to enjoy long breaks to watercolor paint. This course is for all those who have some basic art skills and experience (drawing, pastels, oil, acrylic or watercolor painting ...). You don't need to have mastered watercolor technique since the course, above all else, provides the opportunity to observe and to learn pencil and brush techniques (calligraphy), as well as speed technique for notebook sketches.

Meet up every morning at the 4 Seasons workshop.
Bring water for painting and drinking, a sun hat or a small parasol, a seat (cushion, folding...), a drawing stand, drawing and watercolour material or rent it on site (4 € per session or 20 € per week), good shoes and a picnic for the Thursday outing.
