At an altitude of 2100m, the mont Lachat, accessible from the village thanks to the ski lifts, offers a privileged view of the village of Le Grand-Bornand, the chaîne des Aravis and the surrounding massifs. It is also the starting point for numerous hikes and mountain bike rides and a renowned take-off area for paragliding. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a keen sportsman or a contemplative enthusiast, and an orientation table offering an exceptional 360° panorama.
The highest point of the chaîne des Aravis, the majestic Pointe Percée and its mineral world that gives it an air of Nepal culminates at 2750m altitude. It boasts a breathtaking 360° view of the mythical Mont Blanc. The Massifs du toit de l’Europe, de la Tournette, des Bornes and du Bargy complete the picture! In the distance, weather permitting, you can see the southern Alps, the Jura and the Chablais.
L’aiguille Verte and its summit at an altitude of 2045m offers plunging views over the lac de Lessy, overlooked by the imposing Jallouvre peak. Far from being its only asset, the view is breathtaking: on one side the Almet ridge, Mont Lachat and the plunging view over the village stretching out in front of you, with the Aravis mountain range as a backdrop. On the other, you can admire the Bornes massif with Lake Geneva in the distance.
At the foot of the Jallouvre and the Auferrand head, the two-century-old chalets, weathered by the centuries, bear witness to the richness of the Bornandin heritage while offering a splendid panorama stretching from the Col de la Colombière to La Tournette, via Mont Lachat and the Aravis range.

The hamlet of Les Bouts is set into the mountainside below the Almet ridge, and one of its special features is that it is protected upstream by a large ridge built of stones and earth to stop avalanches.
Seen from the forest path, which can be reached on a lovely walk along the side of the slope, this is something of a Bornand “postcard”, with the heart of the village clustered around the church and its famous bulbous bell tower against the backdrop of the Aravis mountain range, imposing its majestic silhouette in the background. A classic of Alpine imagery, like no other.
Discover the old village of Le Grand-Bornand Chinaillon, dating back to the 17th century and offering a sumptuous setting that reflects the life of the autumn with its century-old wooden houses, chapel and alder roofs. Nestling in the heart of the hamlet is a pretty chapel founded in 1677. Despite undergoing major renovation in 1977, it retains its old-fashioned character and contains a number of objects that bear witness to times gone by, from the Baroque style to contemporary art. Boasting a wealth of historical and architectural details, the old village of Le Grand-Bornand Chinaillon is full of little secrets that you can discover on guided tours.
