Dive into Bornandin’s culture and heritage

The art of living From the cellar to the mountain pastures, the secrets of farmhouse Reblochon revealed

As the leading agricultural commune in Haute-Savoie, Le Grand-Bornand is the birthplace of farmhouse Reblochon. Ever since it first appeared here in the 13th century, Reblochon has been a delight to gourmets and lovers of fine food alike… and with good reason: farmhouse Reblochon, with its green casein disc – which distinguishes it from the dairy Reblochon produced in co-operatives, which features a red disc – goes to great lengths to preserve the traditional expertise that guarantees its inimitable flavour, whilst adapting it to modern requirements: it is produced twice a day at the very site where the cows are milked, using milk from a single herd – consisting mainly of Abondance cows – which are fed exclusively on grass in summer and hay in winter. All these factors are a guarantee of quality for this cream cheese, best served… on a cheese board!
