Snowshoeing, by day or night, is a great way to get up close and personal with the wilderness, and get off the beaten track. A pure experience, discovering the surrounding peaks and exceptional fauna, starting with the mythical bearded vulture, three pairs of which have inhabited the area since the species was reintroduced in 1987, the black grouse, whose protection zones have recently been reinforced in the valleys of Mont Lachat, and the Alpine ibex, the prestigious guest of our mountains, which can be observed on the slopes of the Col de la Colombière.

Enjoy the mountains without skiing
Who said the mountains were for skiers only? At Le Grand-Bornand, 43km of pistes and marked footpaths of all levels of difficulty line the slopes, giving you the chance to get up close and personal with typical hamlets such as Les Bouts or Vieux Chinaillon, with their chalets weathered by the centuries…
You can also discover yoga and equine mediation, as the horse is recognized as an emotional facilitator for therapeutic, educational and pedagogical purposes.

How about getting into action mode?
Hiking in front of the Aravis mountain range, enjoying the fresh mountain air while admiring century-old chalets, meeting farmers, guides and craftsmen, and enjoying a good farmhouse Reblochon cheese: these are all moments that make summer in Le Grand-Bornand a unique experience… and help make it a place that belongs to all of us.
