Summer walks and hikes

From the limestone faces of the Pic de Jallouvre to the coombs and lapiaz of the Aravis, between the Colombière and Annes passes linked by Mont Lachat, Le Grand-Bornand offers over 160km of signposted hiking trails. There are so many itineraries to choose from, ranging from lush alpine pastures to high mountain scenery, either on your own or as part of the services offered by the Compagnie des guides et accompagnateurs des Aravis. Discover the intense pastoral life, punctuated by the production of the famous farmhouse Reblochon cheese, and the wealth of local architecture, flora and fauna: chamois, ibex, marmots and the lammergeyer, Europe’s largest bird of prey.

Choose your walks according to your level and the walking time indicated. Check the weather report and the current conditions before setting off (thunderstorms are common at the end of the day in the mountains in summer). If possible, let someone know when you are leaving and where you are going. Take all the necessary equipment with you (food reserves, hydration, clothing suited to the weather, first-aid kit, telephone, etc.).
