The Heritage House

A visit to the Maison du Patrimoine takes you back in time to the daily life of the people of the past, a life punctuated by the seasons and agro-pastoral activities. It’s also a chance to discover the typical architecture of the Aravis region and understand the ingenuity of the traditional houses of Grand-Bornand.

An authentic traditional house and a true model of rural architecture, the Maison du Patrimoine bears witness to the traditions and skills that forge the identity of the commune of Grand-Bornand.

Thanks to the preservation of almost 400 traditional houses, the oldest of which dates back to 1664, the typical architecture of Grand-Bornand can be discovered throughout the village and its hamlets.
