By the way, What is La Source?

La Source is the fruit of the deliberations of a steering committee that brought together the talents and skills of artists, residents and elected representatives of Le Grand-Bornand, technicians and members of the Association du Patrimoine Bornandin, who were able to respond to a number of issues in tune with the times.

  • tourism: by creating a business lever for the resort, by showcasing the cultural and natural heritage of the mountains and the Alps
  • educational: by offering children an original, immersive activity centre where they can learn while having fun
  • an artistic challenge: by serving the creative vocation of Grand-Bornand through cultural dissemination at local, regional and cross-border level
  • an environmental challenge: by promoting the mountain environment through the transmission of values combining sustainable development and heritage conservation
  • a social and participatory challenge: by fostering links between generations through the ongoing co-construction of the site by local residents, visitors and Alpe players

What's new to return to La Source all summer long!

Between now and the end of June, a number of new features will be added to the site:

  • a new area devoted to emblematic mountain birds;
  • the installation of a toddler area in La Grange aux étoiles;
  • the installation of a new game of skill on the giant steps;
  • new sounds in the “Nid”, a sensory space using old cable cars, on the theme of pastoralism, created by Christiane Dampne as part of the Ailleurs, au coin de la bergerie project in the Isère region;
  • a photo exhibition (20 June to 20 August) entitled On vous dit patou… by Valentine Guerin and Ellen Teurlings, on the theme of patous and the use of mountain pastures.

A new workshop for the little ones!

In addition to the traditional carpentry and miniature-making classes run by Sylvie Bries, artist and decorator for the Au Bonheur des Mômes festival, a new workshop, Selauzerbes, will be specially designed for 3-5 year-olds, with the aim of creating their own rock salt with mountain herbs as a family.Introductory sketching sessions will be given by Céleste Desplanche (in conjunction with the 5th edition of Carnets d’alpage, from 25 to 30 July) and a mountain-themed ” escape coffre ” activity will also be on offer.

to discover... Heritage House

Through its century-old wooden walls, the Maison du Patrimoine invites visitors to step back in time and discover the traditional way of life of the people of Le Grand-Bornand.

Patinated by the years and by the inhabitants, it has retained all its charm and character.

Discover it this summer…
