As the highest point in the ski area, at an altitude of 2,100 metres, Mont Lachat offers a 360° view taking in, in turn, the Aravis range, with Mont Blanc towering just above it in the background, the massifs of La Tournette, Les Bornes and Le Bargy, and also offers stunning views of the Southern Alps, the Jura and the Chablais in the distance…
At the top of the chairlift of the same name, this is undoubtedly THE most beautiful view in the region of the Aravis range, whose spectacular line of peaks stretches across the horizon for over thirty kilometres, between the iconic summits of Pointe Percée and Mont Charvin.

Seen from the forest path, which you can reach via a lovely walk along the hillside, it is something of a “postcard” view of the Bornand region, with the heart of the village clustered around the church and its famous onion-domed bell tower, set against the backdrop of the Aravis range, imposing its majestic silhouette in the background. A classic of Alpine imagery, quite unlike any other.
Iconic, it is something of a symbol of Le Grand-Bornand: a hamlet of two-hundred-year-old chalets weathered by the centuries, with its graceful chapel featuring a shingled bell tower, offering a unique vantage point over the ski area winding around Mont Lachat. Probably one of the most photographed sites in the Alps…

A somewhat hidden spot, perched at the far end of the ski area and overlooking the Col des Annes, accessible via the chairlift of the same name. In the icy silence, the view of the Pointe Percée and the succession of valleys and ridges of the Aravis is breathtaking, as is the feeling of being at the end of the world that emanates from the Col des Annes and its hamlet, slumbering beneath a thick blanket of snow.
Set against the backdrop of the village, discover the splendid Bouchet Valley at the foot of the Aravis Range, a favourite destination for cross-country skiing, which leads all the way to the famous Col des Annes.
