On Sunday 14 July 2024, as part of the Fête de la Montagne, Iris Pessey, a native of Le Grand-Bornand, set a new record for the round trip from the church square in Le Grand-Bornand to the summit of Pointe Percée.
A project close to her heart that holds special meaning for her here at Pointe Percée, a mountain dear to her that has seen her grow up.
This intense challenge inspired a film, “La Pointe Pessey”, directed by Alex Chambet, in the form of a portrait-style documentary. Following a successful festival tour, the film was released on YouTube for a wider audience on 14 July 2025, one year after the record was set and on the day of the Fête de la Montagne.
