Live the experience Women in the Mountains Festival

12–15 November 2026

Launched in the wake of the creation, ten years ago, of the Femmes en Montagne association, the festival of the same name – the 7th edition of which will take place in Annecy from 12 to 15 November – will continue its mission to promote greater gender diversity in the mountains and foster gender equality through film screenings, talks and workshops.
The resort of Le Grand-Bornand will be hosting two events as part of a new partnership with the festival.

Two workshops on the theme of sharing natural spaces with children

How do you go hiking amongst herds? What should you do when a livestock guard dog comes towards you?
And why are there animals in the mountain pastures?… These are just some of the questions covered in this first workshop, designed for 6–12-year-olds and entitled ‘How to get to know the mountains from a young age’. Through games, observations and role-play, the children will set out to discover pastoralism and life in the mountains. They’ll learn to observe and understand alpine landscapes, discover the different ways the mountains are used, and, above all, adopt the right behaviour to coexist harmoniously with herds and the people working in the mountain pastures. An event co-organised by Pasto Kézako, the leading information platform on pastoralism and the sharing of mountain spaces.

  • Saturday 14 November at 1.45 pm – duration: 2 hours
