35th Au Bonheur des Mômes Festival

Things are really hotting up at the festival! In 2027, Au Bonheur des Mômes will, exceptionally, take place from 18 to 22 July! Yes, yes! That’s right – JULY! There’s Avignon for theatre, Cannes for cinema, Aurillac for street arts, Auch for contemporary circus, Charleville-Mézières for puppetry, Clisson and its Hellfest for punks and… Le Grand-Bornand to bring joy to the kids! Among the last major French summer festivals on the calendar, imagine a place where anything goes, where you’d no longer be surprised to come across both a prodigious violinist dressed in Baroque costume playing Ravel’s Boléro upside down, and a Cinderella—half-princess, half-punk—riding a mechanical cow! A co-production led by the Théâtre de la Toupine, a European pioneer in performing arts for young audiences, and the village of Le Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie) since 1992, Au Bonheur des Mômes has since seen companies from all corners of the world come together in the alpine pastures. It blends a roguish spirit with the poetry of street performers, always with that same cheekiness, that openness to live performance based on this very sound principle, tirelessly championed by its creator Alain Benzoni: “ABOVE ALL, ABOVE ALL, DON’T BE TOO WELL-BEHAVED…!” A magical interlude and a hell of a racket, Au Bonheur des Mômes is the last big summer break before the new term for all children from 0 to… no age limit, of course!
