Au Bonheur des Mômes Festival 18 to 22 July 2027

Things are really hotting up at the festival!

In 2027, Au Bonheur des Mômes will take place, exceptionally, from 18 to 22 July! Yes, yes! That’s right – JULY!

There’s Avignon for theatre, Cannes for film, Aurillac for street arts, Auch for contemporary circus, Charleville-Mézières for puppetry, Clisson and its Hellfest for punks and… Le Grand-Bornand for Au Bonheur des Mômes!

Among the last major French summer festivals on the calendar, imagine a place where anything goes, where you’d no longer be surprised to come across, all at once, a prodigious violinist dressed in Baroque-style make-up playing Ravel’s Boléro upside down, and Cinderella – half-princess, half-punk – riding a mechanical cow!

A co-production led by the Théâtre de la Toupine – a European pioneer in performing arts for young audiences – and the village of Le Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie) since 1992, Au Bonheur des Mômes has, ever since, seen companies from the four corners of the world come together in the alpine pastures. It blends a roguish spirit with the poetry of travelling performers, always with the same cheeky attitude and openness to the performing arts, guided by this very sound principle:

‘ABOVE ALL, ABOVE ALL, DON’T BE TOO WELL-BEHAVED…!’

An enchanting interlude and a riot of fun, Au Bonheur des Mômes is the last big summer break before the new term begins for all children aged 0 to… no age limit, of course!
