A winter's day of sporting adventure on the slopes... or in the air!
Whether you're a thrill-seeker or looking for breathtaking panoramas, you've come to the right place!
In Grand-Bornand, dare to push your limits for a day and discover the thrill of sporting adventure. Your BO!neur awaits you in the sky... or on the snow!
Between you and me, paragliding in winter is a real treat!
- First flights and two-seater flights
- Beginners' and advanced courses
- Paragliding schools offering courses for beginners to experienced paragliders, tandem flights and speed riding
With a mini paraglider on your back and skis on your feet, the less shy (and the more adept on skis) will have plenty of opportunities this winter to try out this discipline that combines skiing and aerial sensations, on a training slope and in complete safety, alongside state-qualified instructors from the Starski ski school. It's a great way to experience the thrill of flying between the sky and the snow.
I'll give it a try!
Fat biking: a different way to discover the snow
In Grand-Bornand, fat biking (mountain biking with wheels for the snow) is the ideal way to combine sport, adventure and immersion in the heart of nature. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist looking for a new challenge or a beginner curious to discover the snow in a different way, this discipline promises unique sensations in the heart of the Alps.
With its oversized tyres offering optimum grip on the snow, it's a great way to rediscover the mountains from a whole new angle.
Fat bikes are freely available on snowshoe/pedestrian trails No. 30 (in the village), No. 19 (from Les Troncs to Les Potais) and No. 25 at Chinaillon.
You can also go down the Charmieux trails when they open at night, accompanied only by a mountain bike guide or on discovery outings also accompanied by a mountain bike guide.
Bicycle-skiing: a new sliding sensation accessible to all, even non-skiers
Bicycle-skiing is an easy way for young and old alike to get into the sport: all you need to do is get on a bike. All you need to do is get on a bike and you'll be able to go down green and blue runs right from the first try, without getting scared and, for most beginners, without falling off.
Bicycle skis are equipped with a braking system that is unique in the world, offering great safety and easy speed control.
People who don't know how to ski can share their time on the slopes with skiers. Non-skiing parents can accompany young skiing children.
With the exception of the Châtillon ski lift, the entire ski area (pistes and lifts) is open to bikes and snowscooters.
Skiing into the sunset: an XXL BO!neur
Le Grand-Bornand is offering a unique opportunity to extend the pleasure of skiing, from Sunday 09 February to Friday 07 March 2025, excluding Saturdays. The idea is to enjoy the spectacle of the setting sun at an altitude of 2100 m, as the high point of a day's skiing, and at the same time treat yourself to one last run in a stunning atmosphere. With the sun rising over the horizon, the sky incandescent and the peaks of the Aravis mountains fiery red, this climax brings together all the classics of nature's great spectacle, all the more admired for the fact that it lasts just a few minutes.
It's an experience to be savoured, as the other benefit of the operation is that you can stagger your return to the valley, thereby limiting road congestion and keeping the ‘fun’ factor of your day on the slopes intact.
Sliding faster, jumping higher, flying further... In Le Grand-Bornand, winter isn't just something to contemplate, it's something to experience at full speed. From the peaks to the challenging descents, from the snow to the clouds and the blazing sun, every moment is an adrenalin rush.
