Immerse yourself in the heart of the Aravis with the Gramusset refuge! The Pointe Percée refuge is both a family hike from the Col des Annes and a stopover on the more challenging ascent to the Pointe Percée, the highest point in Le Grand-Bornand, dominating the Aravis range from the top of its 2750m. It has been renovated and opened its doors in a new building in June 2022. Set in the heart of a characteristic landscape of lapiaz, limestone reliefs sculpted by the combined work of glaciers and wind, you can appreciate the high-mountain feel of the refuge, less than two hours’ walk from the mountain pastures. If you’re feeling more sporty, you’ll love climbing the famous routes of the Aravis massif. Take the opportunity to sample some delicious local produce sourced by the wardens.
Escape to the summit of Mont Lachat, the highest point in the ski area in winter at over 2,000 m. It is also a renowned take-off area for hang-gliding, accessible by the Lachat chairlift.
There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a keen sportsman or a contemplative flyer, and an orientation table gives you an exceptional 360° panoramic view of the Jura, the Bauges, Chablais, Bornes, Aravis and Bargy mountain ranges, as well as the summit of Mont Blanc and the highest peaks in the Alps. Enjoy a game of pétanque or Mölkky with family and friends, relax on the Zzzzz’ones rest areas or refresh yourself at the Café des Pisteurs… new for summer 2026!
Play Indiana Jones on the adventure course. Tyroliennes, monkey bridges, cable crossings, Nepalese footbridges, cable biking and skating… Are you up to the challenge? No fewer than 80 activities in the trees await you. If you’ve still got some energy left, play the explorer and set off in search of Jean de la Mine’s treasure in a nature escape game, or discover the secret of the ancient Egyptian treasure chest! For young adventurers, the Bureau des Guides du Grand-Bornand is offering “Granboh Lanta” for 8 – 13 year-olds. Try your hand at an afternoon of survival… in the forest! Get the knack of… moguls! Try out the pumptrack and skatepark in the leisure area in the centre of the village dedicated to mountain bikes, BMX bikes, roller skates, skateboards, scooters and draisiennes.
Take to the air… Paragliding. Le Grand-Bornand is a mecca for hang-gliding sports, just a stone’s throw from Lake Annecy and the famous Col de la Forclaz pass. With its take-off site on Mont Lachat (alt. 2100m), Le Grand-Bornand benefits from aerological conditions that set the standard for paragliders.
Take a dip in the pool. Take advantage of the 12,500 m² aqua-recreational centre in the heart of the village, with views of the Aravis mountain range.
