Live the experience Thrill-Seeker Day Out

A day to soar high!

From the spectacular lapiaz of the Aravis to the thermals of Mont Lachat, Le Grand-Bornand pulls out all the stops, from panoramic hikes to paragliding baptisms. A day to soar high between the earth and the sky!

Or...

Escape to the summit of Mont Lachat, the highest point in the ski area in winter at over 2,000 m. It is also a renowned take-off area for hang-gliding, accessible by the Lachat chairlift.

There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a keen sportsman or a contemplative flyer, and an orientation table gives you an exceptional 360° panoramic view of the Jura, the Bauges, Chablais, Bornes, Aravis and Bargy mountain ranges, as well as the summit of Mont Blanc and the highest peaks in the Alps. Enjoy a game of pétanque or Mölkky with family and friends, relax on the Zzzzz’ones rest areas or refresh yourself at the Café des Pisteurs… new for summer 2026!

Or else...

Take to the air… Paragliding. Le Grand-Bornand is a mecca for hang-gliding sports, just a stone’s throw from Lake Annecy and the famous Col de la Forclaz pass. With its take-off site on Mont Lachat (alt. 2100m), Le Grand-Bornand benefits from aerological conditions that set the standard for paragliders.

The Plus

  • Enjoy an aperitif at the Col des Annes. At an altitude of 1720 m, at the foot of the Pointe Percée, the highest peak in the Aravis range at 2750 m, you’ll find a number of mountain restaurants and alpine farms with unique architecture and breathtaking views of the Aravis range.
  • Stop off at one of our restaurants to sample one of our specialities.
