Glisse en Cœur breaks its own record with €873,416 in donations!

It was her fervent wish.

That, after her, the children of the Ma Chance Moi Aussi association, the main cause of this 17th Glisse en Coeur event, held over the weekend on the slopes of Le Grand-Bornand, would “in turn reach the summits”. Three years after Christine Janin, who until now held the record for donations – 864,578 euros – raised for A Chacun son Everest! at the time, it’s now done. The adventuress has passed the baton to André Payerne, an entrepreneur in the metal industry who is sensitive to social inequalities.
And his rebellion seems to have found a particular echo deep in the Aravis massif, as the French mountain charity event has, for the first time since 2023, not only reached the donation target set by its main cause, but also exceeded its own record by nearly 10,000 euros.

The strength of the collective held up as a model of a society in good health

By choosing to support a social cause for the first time, the main aim of the Ma Chance Moi Aussi association is to combat social exclusion in the inner suburbs. The Fonds de Dotation pour l’Enfance, which is part of Glisse en Coeur, also supports the Vendée Coeur (Les Sables d’Olonne) and Danse en Coeur (Lyon) events, Glisse en Coeur, which was present all weekend alongside the 1,300 competitors involved in these 24 hours of non-stop skiing in more or less favourable weather conditions, has achieved a feat that is a source of immense hope in the current economic climate and in the chaos of today’s world.
It was, in André Payerne’s words, “a victory” in the face of “the unacceptable, intolerable inertia of social indicators in France’s 1,500 priority neighbourhoods”. A victory made possible, well beyond the originality of the Glisse en Coeur concept and its mobilising power, by the strength of the collective, and the desire to work together as a model and even better: as “the driving force behind a society that is doing well”, according to Stéphane Thébaut, patron of the event.
