A beautiful road carved into the cliff gives character to the first part of the climb. The gradient above Serraval is very gentle, making this a good beginner’s climb, just like the other side.

As well as being renowned for its difficulty, the Col de la Forclaz is famous for its beautiful scenery and the views it offers of Lake Annecy. For sure you'll get a chance to admire a colourful cloud of hangliders and paragliders!

Located on the east flank of the Tournette, the emblematic mountain which dominates Lake Annecy, the Marais pass climbs gently on the north side from the centre of Thones. It's a good pass for beginners.

This climb takes you into the very heart of the Glières Mountains, close to the monument to the Resistance. After overcoming the extremely steep slopes just before the Col du Collet, the 5% gradient below the Col des Glières will feel like a breeze.

This ride is a slightly longer version of the Col de la Croix-Fry climb. However, it is on the beautiful, south-facing bends of the Croix-Fry that you will find the steepest gradients and an unbeatable view of the Tournette.
