My sporty ski itinerary: get your thighs pumping!

The Grand-Bornand alpine ski area boasts 90 km of runs, offering a wide range of skiing experiences (snowpark for all levels, secure freeride area, timed slalom stadium, fun runs, night and sunset skiing, etc.) and the opportunity to explore the 5 black runs while enjoying magnificent panoramic views and a remarkable architectural heritage: chapel, old chalets and picturesque hamlets, etc.

Embark on a sporting itinerary that will take you through the most famous runs in the area. Be as sharp as your skis!

Get your thighs pumping and your adrenalin pumping!

Head for Mont Lachat, the highest point in the resort at 2100m, to get down to the serious business of skiing Grand-Bornand's most iconic runs. The chairlift starts at the top of the Rosay gondola.

Warming up with a view: Piste 2000

It's a gentle start, or almost, with the red Piste 2000 run: long, undulating, well-prepared and bathed in light from morning onwards, with a breathtaking view of the Aravis mountain range, it rolls out its white carpet right up to the foot of the Maroly sector. A real treat, especially in the morning and in spring!

Stepping up the intensity: time for the blacks!

Adrenalin, you say? At the foot of Maroly, take the Tolar chairlift and when you reach the top, you have a choice of two black runs on this side of the mountain. Head either for the Couloir de la Sonnerie for a relatively short but sustained effort on a beautiful, steep, even, bumpy and technical slope, or Les Dames, a variant of the previous one, just as steep and technical. And for those with a bit more energy, go back up and do both!

On to Chinaillon!

From the top of the La Tolar chairlift, turn right to take the Noire des Pylônes, which follows the line of the La Floria chairlift. It's a beautiful 900m-long black run, a little more accessible, though, and offers a great view over Chinaillon. Once you reach the Chinaillon snow front, you barely have time to breathe and you're back on the La Floria chairlift.

Back to Mont Lachat: taking it up a notch!

From the top of La Floria, quickly climb the red of Les Lanches to get back up to Lachat for a second round up there! The Noire du Lachat awaits you! An iconic, highly committed run for thrill-seekers.  A very, very, very steep entrance that could give you vertigo and an average slope of 50%, reserved for experts! More than 1000m of descent ending at the ‘Languières wall’ to reach the start of the Lachat chairlift... and then back up again.

This time, it's the Espace Freeride session, with a dip into the back of the Lachat, a large, wild, ungroomed but safe couloir. There are two ways to enter the couloir: opposite the arrival point of the chairlift or by skirting the summit of Le Lachat to the right. Then slide down the Tétras rouge, which takes you gently to the end of Piste 2000 and the bottom of Maroly.

It's time for a break... but always on skis!

A short break? Yes, but without taking your shoes off! From the foot of the Maroly chairlift, take the Green Lake piste through the Bois de la Cour, from where you can admire the picturesque hamlet of Les Bouts and its hundred-year-old chalets on the right, a unique atmosphere: calm, unspoilt, almost timeless.
A moment's respite before setting off again... for one last challenge!

A sunset before a final challenge...

Back (again) at the top of Mont Lachat to finish the day in style, admiring a dazzling sunset! Mont Lachat offers a 360° view of the Aravis range, with Mont Blanc just above in the background, the Tournette, Bornes and Bargy massifs, and also offers great views of the southern Alps, the Jura and the Chablais in the distance...
During the winter holidays, make the most of the XXL BO!neur and extend your skiing pleasure by opening the slopes at the end of the day.

... back to the village in style!

After a busy day, it's time to head back, but you might as well do it in style! 3 km of non-stop descent for 1100m of vertical drop: these are the dream measurements of the famous Dénivel'Maxx, THE legendary Grand-Bornand piste, a series of runs of all levels linking Mont Lachat to the village... You'll alternate between panoramic skiing on the west face of Lachat, and forest passages before the final, spectacular changeover to the resort via the beautiful red face of Les Envers.

By the way, did you know that as part of the #mongrandbo mini-series with Tessa Worley and CO, mountain bike champion Loana Lecomte has joined our Grand-Bo ‘chip’ to race down the Denivel'Maxx!
From Mont Lachat, with some of the most demanding slopes in the area, to the Chinaillon slope and back to the village, this series of runs is bound to give you a lot of pleasure and leave your legs shaking!
Le Grand-Bornand is also a playground for skiers who want it all. Here, you can ski from morning until the last ray of sunshine, ski downhill after downhill, push your limits... and burn your thighs!
