Itinerary used for a long time by the inhabitants of the slope - schoolchildren in particular - to reach the village before the road called "Nant Robert" was built, the vertical ascent of Carchet goes up from the bridge of Suize (921m) to the cross of Arces (1690m).
769m of a difference in altitude reserved for the most athletic, which climbs between coniferous woods (fir and spruce) and mountain pastures, where you can observe, in its summit part, chamois and marmots. The summit offers a 360° view on the surrounding summits, and the possibility to come down by a less committed itinerary via the hamlet of Nant Robert, from the arrival station of the Joyère cable car.
Respect nature throughout your hike:
- respect the trail layout, do not cut outside,
- do not scare livestock, do not cut wires and close fences,
- observe wildlife from a distance,
- Nature is not a dustbin, keep your waste and throw it in the containers available in the villages.
