Adventure Path

Le Grand-Bornand is a sports ground where you can play without limits. Between sky and earth, a place to let your adventurous nature express itself...
In winter, Le Grand-Bornand is a snowpark regularly ranked among the 10 most famous in France, a committed freeride area, a mythical slope - the Dénivel'Maxx and its 3 km long for 1100m of difference in altitude, the biathlon experience in the heart of the resort, organizer of the French round of the world cup of the discipline... but also the whole range of Nordic activities and alternative snow sports...

In summer, there are 160 km of marked hiking trails, including the ascent of the impressive Pointe Percée, which dominates the Aravis mountains from the top of its 2,750 m of altitude, as well as renowned climbing routes and a via-ferrata. As for cycling, the resort, 8 times stage town of the Tour de France since 1995, knows a lot about it with the formidable ascent to the Colombière pass, a must on the tourist route of the Route des Grandes Alpes, and its mountain bike offer of 178 km of tracks in the mountain pastures...

Cross-country skiing

The resort, which hosts the Biathlon World Cup, boasts 74.5 km of marked runs along the Aravis mountain range, in the wild and beautiful Bouchet valley. The regular night-time events promise to be a real thrill, as does the chance to discover biathlon and follow in the footsteps of the French national team champions who regularly set foot on Bornandin soil...

Stunning views...

Lovers of wide open spaces will opt for a paragliding flight or a ski touring trip, following one of the safe, signposted itineraries along the Alpine ski area... all offering unparalleled views of the Aravis mountain range. Unless, of course, you already have a good level of fitness, you opt for a hike up to the Gramusset refuge, also known as the Pointe Percée refuge, one of the only CAF (Club Alpin Français) mountain refuges open and guarded in winter: a sentinel of the Aravis mountains with a view over the valley, which has earned itself a place on the list of must-do excursions in the region!

... and thrills

Adventure also means the chance to push back your limits with practices that have the air of initiation rites, such as toumo yoga, also known as ‘yoga of the inner fire’... which involves immersing yourself in the icy water of torrents duly accompanied by an experienced yogini. Another experience open to thrill-seekers: climbing an ice chute with slopes defying 90° with a state-qualified high-mountain guide.
