Neige: the muse cow of the Salon de l'Agriculture

Updated on 02/03/2022.

Neige, a young Abondance cow from Grand-Bornand, is the muse cow of the International Agriculture Show in Paris (February 26 - March 6, 2022). She illustrates all the richness of Savoie Mont Blanc agriculture: local breeds, family farming, quality products linked to the territories of Savoie and Haute-Savoie.

8 years after Bella, the Tarentaise breed's muse cow, it is Neige's turn to take center stage. Her image is displayed in the subway corridors, in all the magazines, in all the television news... Present at the entrance of the Show, Neige will welcome the 600,000 expected visitors. For a week, she will embody the image and values of Savoy agriculture.

Originating from the Haute-Savoie valley from which it takes its name, the Abondance has been recognized as a cattle breed since 1891. It is the 4th French dairy breed. It concentrates 75% of its numbers in Savoie Mont Blanc. Neige is part of the 47-cow herd of the family farm of Arnaud, Pauline and Philippe Missillier.
