Live the experience Freewheel Day Out

When it comes to cycling, Le Grand-Bornand has it all!

A popular base camp for mountain bikers and cyclists alike, whether you ride electrically or by calf power, Le Grand-Bornand invites you to take to the trails or follow in the footsteps of the heroes of the Tour de France. When it comes to cycling, Le Grand-Bornand has it all!

Or...

Ride and discover the Tour du Danay, a twenty-kilometre forest trail of red difficulty – open from spring until the first snow – in the Grand-Bornand mountain biking area. Fun, shady and dotted with beautiful panoramic views of the Aravis mountains, the route is shared with walkers and hikers. You can also explore the 8 itineraries, symbolising a new stage in the development of the bike park, bringing to 178 the number of km of signposted routes starting from Le Grand-Bornand. Improve your technique and have fun at the Ludopark de Lormay!

Or else...

Keep your pedal power for unusual outings! All summer long, the mountain bike service providers in Grand-Bornand are offering a range of unusual electrically-assisted mountain bike outings, whether they be gourmet, fun or combined with other activities.

The Plus

  • For lunch and dinner, enjoy the village atmosphere on one of the bar terraces for an aperitif, then sample one of our specialities in one of the village restaurants.
  • Several sports shops offer bike hire.
  • If you’ve come up to Le Grand-Bornand Chinaillon, discover the Cascade Mystérieuse (Mysterious Waterfall). Legend has it that this pretty waterfall on the Nant du Chinaillon, tumbling down a narrow gorge for around thirty metres, was the place where the very first Bornand couple met… It’s more of a walk than a hike, a pleasant and refreshing one in the shade of the Grand-Bornand Chinaillon beech forest.
