Getting up high

The Rosay cable car (from the Village) and the Lachat chairlift are accessible to pedestrians, mountain bikers and paragliders. This is a great opportunity for hikers to explore some of the 160km of marked hiking trails, and for mountain bikers to access several of the 178km of marked trails.

From the summit of Mont Lachat de Châtillon (the highest point in the area), contemplative visitors can enjoy an exceptional 360° panoramic view of the Jura, the Aravis, Bargy, Bornes, Bauges and Chablais massifs, as well as the summit of Mont Blanc and some of the highest peaks in the Alps, which can be seen from an orientation table. You can also enjoy a moment of relaxation at altitude with deckchairs and a petanque area.

Paragliders, come and (re)discover the Lachat site, a benchmark for hang-gliding.

Take a header

Feet in the water, head in the mountains… the 12,500 m² aqua-recreational centre in Le Grand-Bornand, in a green setting just a stone’s throw from the heart of the village, is the perfect place to cool off all summer long while enjoying its fun facilities.

A place to discover and share the Alps, open from June to September, La Source welcomes all kinds of visitors (individuals, schoolchildren, leisure centres, etc.) and offers over 40 indoor and outdoor play areas and educational and creative activities. This lively, evolving venue offers a rich and varied programme of artistic and cultural events throughout the summer.

Immerse yourself in the life of yesteryear

Immerse yourself in the day-to-day life of the people of yesteryear, a life punctuated by the seasons and agro-pastoral activity. Discover the typical architecture of the Aravis and the ingenuity of the traditional houses of Grand-Bornand.

Setting off on an adventure

Thrills and spills! At the Parcours Aventure de la forêt des Dodes, more than 80 activities in the trees are at your disposal: zip lines, monkey bridges, cable crossings, Nepalese footbridges, cable biking and skating…

Follow in the footsteps of the Aravis hidden treasure and meet the valley’s inhabitants to help you on your quest! The Escape game “La légende de Jean de la Mine” is an outdoor game on a tablet, with a story and challenges to unlock the rest of the story little by little… until you find the treasure.

Walking the rocks

The via ferrata at the Tour du Jallouvre is now open, so take advantage of the opportunity to climb the rocks of the Bargy massif on a route of difficulty AD (variant l’Eterlou) to D+. Unless you’d prefer to tackle a major climbing route on the Colombière cliff…

Until 3 July, court bookings can be made at the mini-golf chalet from 9am to 12 noon and from 3pm to 5.30pm.
